大綱 Synopsis
《媽媽》誕生於1990年，由秦燕編劇、張元導演、黃海波主演。被丈夫拋棄的年輕母親梁丹不得不獨立撫養患有腦殘疾的兒子冬冬。 已經十三歲的兒子病情絲毫不見好轉，但梁丹卻執著地相信冬冬的病能治好，並試圖用各種方法喚醒兒子對童年的記憶。她的努力使她陷入巨大的感情矛盾和生活壓力之中， 在工作與照顧弱智兒子冬冬之間感到心力交瘁。一次，冬冬失蹤時癲病發作，被裹身的布纏死了。
被稱為中國第六代導演的代表人物張元大膽地採用黑白和彩色膠片並用的手段，並在虛構故事裡穿插了記錄片的影像，大大地增加了影片的紀實力度。張元第一部作品所表現出的對社會邊緣人群和弱勢群體的人道主義關注以及其獨特的敘事風格引起了國際電影節的強烈關注，使當時只二十五歲的張元成為國際知名的中國青年導演。該片被稱為中國第一部獨立製作的電影。
Mama is a touching story of normal people’s life. Abandoned by husband, the young mother Liang Dan had to raise a mentally-challenged son, Dongdong alone by herself. When Dongdong reached age of 13, he had little possibility to recover. Dan stubbornly believed that Dongdong could be cured and tried all the methods to rouse Dongdong’s memory of childhood. Her efforts trapped her into huge relationship conflicts and life pressure. She did not only cause trouble for her colleagues, but also annoyed her pursuer and ex-husband. Dan worn herself out shuttling back and forth between work and childcare. One day, Dongdong’s disease was out of control while he was missing.
關於導演 Director’s Biography
美國《時代週刊》「21世紀世界百名青年領袖」之一。1989年北京電影學院獲學士學位後，個人集資獨立製片，開創中國近代電影先河。憑《媽媽》榮獲 91年法國南特三大洲電影節評審委員會大獎、93年柏林電影節青年論壇影評人獎。99年，張元憑作品《過年回家》獲威尼斯電影節最佳導演獎，2001年被聯合國授予文化和平獎，06年獲梵帝岡羅勃特 • 布萊松獎。
Born in Nanjing, Zhang received a BA in cinematography from the Beijing Film Academy in 1989 before his pioneering decision in Chinese cinema to produce an independent film in Mama. And the rest is history: the recipient of Nantes Three Continents Festival Special Jury Award and Youth Forum Award in The Berlin International Film Festival, Zhang made it to the list of “100 Young Global Leaders in the 21st Century” by Time.
